On Friday, 25th March 2016, in the Eagle Room of Epoka University, the first seminar of “Leadership Program” activity took place. The program, titled “Freshman Leaders”, is a 4-week program designed to help students develop their leadership skills. This program is organized by Career Plannig and Alumni Office in Collaboration with Women's Leadership Club.
Around thirty students from different departments were present and active during the seminar. This activity consisted of a training speech from a special guest Mrs.Teuta ÜSTÜNDAĞ, assistant of the Vice Minister of Energy and Industry. She shared her life experience with students, starting from her high school education, university and work experience in different companies in Albania. She was mainly focused on orienting students towards a strong career regarding:
-where and how to find a job;
-how to determine their strengths, weaknesses, opportunities and threats for a job position;
-how to distinguish between expectancies and reality etc;
The seminar, which lasted about 1 hour and 30 minutes, was quite interactive and helpful. Students were free to ask questions and add opinions. At the end, Mrs. Teuta gave the message that working is not easy, so you have to sacrifice, tolerate a lot or tire yourself more than required, but at the end that all is worthwhile. She also advised the audience to go after work practices and new opportunities even though they may seem insignificant at the beginning.
After the seminar, a simple banquet was organized for the participants.
